Philodendron hastatum (Silver Sword)

$15.00

This philodendron species takes the cake for glossy, truly silver philodendron. Although easy to keep alive, it takes a little finesse to grow it looking good. I HIGHLY recommend rooting into a proper moss pole to get the leaves to unfurl properly and encourage the plant to size up. From personal experience, I can recommend Rousseau poles, though I have no affiliation with that company. When large, the leaves of this species are very dramatic and long, hence its nickname “Silver Sword.”

The first three photos are representative of the plant you will receive. The last photo shows my personal plant in my home, which serves as the mother for the propagations I sell.

If your HIGH temperature is below 55 degrees F., please add winter shipping insurance. This insurance covers the cost of a heat pack for shipping and guarantees you a refund if your plant arrives frozen. I unfortunately cannot refund a plant that arrives frozen if you did not purchase winter shipping insurance.

I always pack and ship with the utmost care to maintain the health and safety of your plant, but please understand that plants are living things and can sustain some amount of stress or damage during and immediately after shipping. If your plant is dead-on-arrival or dies within ten days of receipt, please send me photos of the state of your plant within 24 hours for a refund. I cannot offer a refund after the ten-day window. I can also only offer a refund for a dead plant if:

  • You unpackaged it as soon as possible upon receipt.

  • You did not leave the package for prolonged periods in poor conditions (i.e, overnight on your porch in freezing temperatures or all day in your mailbox in hot weather).

  • You saw to the plant’s basic needs after unboxing (water if necessary, reasonable light, etc.).

  • You did not repot your plant from it’s nursery planter within the ten-day refund window (unless it’s a plant I shipped bare-root).

Due to the unlikelihood of even a very healthy plant surviving the shock of immediate return shipping, I do not accept returns of plants. If you need to cancel a plant order for any reason, please do so by 11:59 pm EST on the Saturday immediately after you place your order (or same day before midnight EST for orders placed on Saturdays).
